Insight into Building Your Dental Practice: Rule # 3 - IMPROVE CASE PRESENTATION
General dentistry, orthodontia and periodontics are about oral health. So is cosmetic dentistry, but cosmetic dentistry has an added dimension because it includes emotional and psychological health as well.
This adds another dimension to your interactions with patients, and is the reason why you must do a job of presenting the case for cosmetic dentistry.
While not strictly “need-based,” cosmetic procedures can make great contributions to patients’ sense of well being and self-esteem. However, unless you make your patients aware of the benefits of the cosmetic procedures your office offers, they won’t know how much positive self image reinforcement a beautiful smile can provide.
Be aware that when you present the case for the benefits of cosmetic dental procedure, you are asking the patient to make a decision about their future emotional and psychological health. Emphasizing the emotional and psychological benefits is an excellent way to promote any cosmetic procedure.
Because most people would like a nicer smile, most of your patients will be happy to hear about the benefits of the smile improvements your office can provide.
