Dental Office Interior Design – It Does Matter to Business
The interior design in your dental office plays an important role in the overall success of your dental practice, so make a point of designing it in a way that makes your patients feel welcome, relaxed and comfortable.
The Chinese have known how profoundly physical environments affect how people feel and perform for centuries. In fact, there’s a Chinese practice known as Feng Shui (pronounced “fung schway”) that explains how to optimize business environments for success.
A few Feng Shui tips:
• Keep background colors calm and peaceful but make sure to add a few brighter color touches such as a painting or flowers
• Use plants to invoke a peaceful atmosphere
• If possible, include a small aquarium—people love watching fish, and because fish symbolize prosperity, they will draw money to you
• Provide current reading materials on topics that will interest your patients as well as general reading—make sure you have brochures that explain every procedure your office provides and every dental problem you can correct
• Because your receptionist can become busy on the phone, or focused on completing insurance forms or even on a bathroom break, tie a small bell to the inside of the door handle to let your dental staff members know when people arrive
Your office design does impact the success of your dental practice, so be sure the impact it makes is a positive one!
