Using Email and Electronic Newsletters to Keep in Touch with Clients
“Reach out and touch someone” used to be an advertising slogan for the phone companies. Today, more people are reached by email than any other means.
Everybody has email these days, which makes keeping in touch with your dental patients electronically the smart thing to do—so when your receptionists take contact information for new patients, tell them to be sure to get email addys as well. And each time an established patient returns, ask your staff to double check you have that patient’s email info as well.
In addition to sending out appointment reminders for upcoming appointments, you can let patients know about new dental procedures your office is providing, educate them on the whys and wherefores of procedures they may have heard about and been interested in considering and boost your practice at the same time.
Many companies today produce excellent “do-it-yourself” templates for newsletters. Designs are far superior to those available several years ago, and the templates are simple to use—just “fill in the blanks” with the information you want your patients to have.
Electronic newsletters are fast becoming the way to communicate with patients. Don’t be the last kid on the block to use one!
