Do you offer a discount when patients pay cash? Consider it and save the credit card fees
Credit card fees, as everyone whose business accepts credit cards know, have skyrocketed over the past year and a half. One payment option many businesses are now offering customers who typically use credits cards to pay for goods and services is paying at a discounted rate using cash instead.
Basically, when the discount you give remains at or slightly below the amount that the credit card company would charge you for handling the charge, you're coming out ahead. And you may come out ahead even if the amount is a bit higher simply because your cash flow speeds up every time you receive cash.
Besides which, patients, like everyone else, love receiving discounts. After all, who doesn't like a bargain? And patients who are happy with having more payment choices will be the first to tell their friends and family members about it, which will boost your business as well.
The bottom line here is that the more ways you can accommodate your patients' financial abilities, the better they will like you.
