Top Tips for Great Case Presentation to Dental Patients
The dental college you attended probably didn't offer a course in how to present your case to dental patients. Well, don't worry. You CAN learn how to do this on your own, at least with a little help.
The first step in presenting your case is organization. While you know the ins and outs of the procedures you need to discuss with patients, they don't have this knowledge. So sit down, pretend you are your own patient and list everything you know about every procedure you perform. Then organize the information into file folders and have one of your staff members type up your notes.
Use these notes as the basis for doing some trial presentations for staff members. Ask them to critique your performance and make any necessary changes. The key to giving successful presentations is practice, being critiqued by people you trust, and using their suggestions to improve your performance the next time. Just because they didn't teach you how to do this in dental school doesn't mean you can't learn to do it now!
