Keeping Kids Happy in Your Dental Office
What children want in a dental office isn't so far away from what their parents want. First of all, they want to feel at ease and unafraid, so anything you can do to make them feel comfortable and reassure them that you will take care of their teeth in a way that they will enjoy and appreciate is all to the good.
Of course, little kids won't be able to digest most of the information in the many brochures you make available for adult patients to learn about the various dental procedures your office provides.
However, there are learning alternatives available for kids….there are coloring books, kindergarten and grade school level picture books about the importance of good dental hygiene and health care. Make certain you provide a wide selection of these books to accommodate every age and reading level so that kids can learn about procedures in a manner they can comprehend and feel comfortable with.
And, for littler kids, having a separate area of your office well-stocked with toys where children can play without disturbing adult patients is a must.
