Telephone Customer Service is an Essential Skill in a Dental Practice
As with every other business that has a phone number, telephone customer service is an essential skill for your dental staff members to master. Everyone wants to be treated with respect and dignity, and every one of your dental patients has every right to expect that your staff will show them the consideration and courtesy they desire.
When recruiting dental staff members, it's best to explain to them before making your final hiring decisions that a large part of the responsibility they will hold is customer service—and whether that service is scheduling or rescheduling appointments, explaining dental procedures, arranging for their insurance carriers to receive your bills directly and whatever other service is required must always be provided in a manner that is courteous and complete.
That includes telephone manners as well. When people call in to schedule an appointment or get more information, it's imperative that they come away from those contacts feeling that their needs were met in a polite and thorough way. When your staff members provide excellent customer service, your practice will benefit in all ways!
