Don’t Waltz Through Reception: Take the Time to Chat Briefly with Waiting Patients
People tend to feel undervalued when they are whisked through the opening stages of anything, be it a new relationship, being seated at a table in a restaurant or going through the reception process at your dental office.
That's why it's important that you and your staff members take a few moments to chat with each of the patients who come to your dental office and have to wait for a few minutes.
No one likes to be kept waiting, but sometimes things get backed up because simply you are providing the very best service to your dental clients. Because you answer every client's questions thoroughly, you can't completely precisely control the amount of time you need to spend with each patient. So while you're taking such good care of patient A, patients B and C are unavoidably cooling their heels in your waiting room.
So take a moment or two to chat with patients in your waiting room. It will make their wait seem much shorter and feel more enjoyable.
