Dental Management Series: The Importance of Having a Business Plan
Would you start off on a long motor trip without a map? Of course not! That would be silly, wouldn't it?
Though most people carry a map or atlas in their cars when they travel, far fewer understand the necessity of creating such a map for their business and professional practices.
Business plans are like maps in another way, too. They both serve to show you how far you've gotten on your journey.
You can write a business plan in a number of ways, but however you approach the actual writing, be certain to include the goals you hold for your dental practice and the dates by which you want those goals to be achieved. In fact, a good way to begin writing a business plan is by writing a list of your goals first, leaving plenty of room on the paper between them. Then list the steps you think are necessary to take in order to achieve those goals, and your business plan begins to take on form and substance both.
Fill in the details that only you can provide and voila — your business plan is in writing and your goals are clear!
